Bi Annual Post

There hasn't been very much ado about anything on this blog for about 6 months, has there? Sorry!

Well, we haven't really been up to much. We have just moved from our rental property

to the shop/house (aka barndominium) we've been working on. No big deal. :)

We had good help to move the furniture and good friends cooked for us all. It was great! That was in May.

Hmmm....what else? The kids are all growing.
Maybe it is what we are feeding them?
This summer the girls had a babysitting job and the guys built and built....
                                                                         fence.....
some fine metal work, including a one-of-a-kind chess board

                                                                lots of leatherwork

                                                                   This was a common site.

We took a family vacation.....first stop was Taos. The
above photo shows they are growing up. The one
below shows they aren't growing up too fast.
                                                                Thankfully. :)
We met up with most all of our family and camped!
There are too many pictures from that trip - could
do a whole post on it! But especially loved the one
of Dad and Morgan...we had a great afternoon of
fishing. It had been years....can't wait to go again.
Stopped at the Royal Gorge on the way home.
I don't remember if they were just looking or spitting...
                                                               You can probably guess.
This was the best flag on display! :)

This fall we bailed into our 3rd year of homeschooling. Started out the year with a field trip to an awesome museum.

Other news in our house is that Ivey got glasses. She is so thankful her eyes came through for her and got a little bit bad. She has been wanting fashionable glasses for years. :) I should have made her get extra dorky ones for her first pair, like the pictures from the 80's show I did. :)

That about catches us up to now....see, not much going on! :)

Shelly, so glad to see the two new blogs--wonderful peek back at your summer and all you've been doing!
Can't wait to see Ivey in her glasses---so cute!--and reminds me again that she could be sister to Callie!

Morg's leather work is just breathtaking, even if I am his Mother!
And so is his metalwork. Like Ian said, "Morgan's horn needs a tootin!'"

I suppose when you wait 6 months to post, you've got to make it a good one! :) You did a fine job of catching us up, making us laugh, making us thankful we're not building fence in southern heat, making us wish we were at the birthday scavenger hunt, made us smile at the spitting tourists, making us wish we had the artistic talent of the leather guy you married, made us smile at the twin GIJoes, and made us MISS YOU ALL!!!
Great job.
Love, The Northern P's

p.s. you don't have to wait 6 months to post again.
pps. I don't think they still make glasses that look as "uncool" as your first ones did!! :) Cutesy Ivey, you make em' look good.

ppps. It's two hours past my bedtime. I apologize for the bad grammar in the above paragraph. I bounced back and forth from past to present tense like a bouncy ball owned by a sugared up toddler. You're cringing, I can feel it. You can use it in your schoolroom as an example of what not to do when you write! You can also rest assured that at least I noticed. :) Now I'll go to bed. Thanks again for the posts!

Oh I loved this post!! Even though I had seen a lot of the pictures before, I loved the narrative and chuckled all the way through....especially at the term "barndominium" :)
Morg - your leather work is amazing...more than amazing! It's beautiful. Please don't make your next post bi-annual...we love your updates too much to wait that long. I guess we don't have a choice *wink* so will just enjoy them as they come! I did laugh and laugh at sister's comment above in regard to bad grammar "You can rest assured that at least I noticed" :) hahaha That totally made my day :)

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Mel, I was NOT being critical of your grammar! I enjoyed your commentary totally. But after you mentioned it, I went back and looked again and died laughing. What's that? Oh, the printer whirring. I better grab the printed version and head to the schoolroom with my red pen....Great Grandma style. :)

Thanks for the comments! :) And for your patience in waiting for posts. :)
Love,
Michelle

I'll send you some new red pens for your birthday - if you start correcting my writing, I suppose you'll need a fresh supply. :)
Great Grandma would be proud. As would Mrs. Baker. :)

I mean Mrs. Peterson. Ms. Baker was Monte's English teacher I think....

Well, finally some news. :) I check in regularly to see what is happening with ya'll. It is so good to see the family growing and all of life's changes. Ah, the memories!!!

And, Melody's grammar was great since I get to read from her and Monique!!!!

Tell all hello.
