Winter Crafting with Memop!

This post is mostly for Hatty because we can't count how many times we've said "Hatty would love this!Hatty should be here!" I didn't want to clog Hatty's email with all the pictures, so we'll make a post!

Frank and Jessica came this week so Frank could help with weaning the calves and a little bit of branding. That meant the guys were gone for long days. In their absence, we proved to be without restraint. The idea of winter crafting took hold and we were unstoppable. I am not a confident crafter, but Memop is confident, savvy, and was able to lead the charge. The girls were very willing and capable participants.Wanna see what came of the crafting frenzy? If crafting isn't your thing, you may not be interested in the next 103 pictures. :) I had to make sure Hatty could see all the details! :)

After all the glue, glitter, twine, bells, ModPodge, pipe cleaners, etc. had been hauled out, we got started. It was very serious business!

Ivey hauled out the fan to hasten the drying process - we didn't have time to WAIT!
It was a little scary looking....but look! Cute things started emerging from the clutter!
There were times is was silent with 4 of us all concentrating on the business at hand...like this.
Look! Among the wrappings and rubble, a darling snowman appeared!

At one point, Frank stopped in and I just LOVE him for so many reasons, but one is that he looked at each little craft we had been working on and was complimentary! He totally approved of us using our day to cut, glue, and create crafty type things. :) What a guy.

We used more paint in a day than we usually do in 6 months. The girls were ok with that.

Now that you can appreciate the intensity of this day...how about seeing some of the results?!
Jessica's snowman. Wouldn't you love for him to live at your house
Ivey's has a top  hat, mine doesn't, but they are both bird loving snowmen. Love them? We do!
I
Ivey made a little ski man too....and Sadie made a snowlady that is in the background.

Sadie made a little guy with button earmuffs - he's hanging out with Memop's snowman. Cute!

They all wanted to get together for a group picture. :) Good thing they are made of foam or they would have melted when I was out in the 70 degree weather taking pictures of them. That's why we make winter crafts...to remind us that somewhere in the world it is winter! :)
Another craft was painting bird houses. Sadie's is the left, Memop's in the middle, Ivey's on the right. Darling!
We hadn't used quite enough glitter, glue, snow, and paint, so we tackled a craft that took lots of all the above! We started with plain cardboard ornaments from Hobby Lobby. Jess cut holes in them and we proceeded to make little scenes inside...after painting and glittering the outside.
Mine on the left, Ivey's on the right.

                                                       Jessica's. The queen of creativity.
The inside of mine. I lost count of how many times the deer fell into the Modpodge and blue painted river and had to be washed off and placed again. He was wishing someone besides me would have picked him. :)
                                                                 Ivey's. So cute.
Sadie's. Ditched the deer for a dog. A real shocker, I know. I love it.
Another one of Jessica's, because it looked so pretty hanging in the mistletoe!
Last but not least....Jessica bought a box at the junk store filled with misc. cheap Christmas items. They were sorta tacky in their original state, but look what we did with them. Little baskets of cheer!

Since this is for Hatty, I will include this picture of Morgan in the jacket Hunter D passed along to him. It is perfect - many thanks!
Happy crafting, Hatty! I bet you plugged in your hot glue gun halfway through this post to get started on your own crafties! Send pictures!

What a fun post!! LOVED seeing your winter crafting day with Memop!! I love.love.love those snowmen especially! They are all so fabulous! Ivey's little ski man got me hook-line & sinker...love! The scenes in the ornaments are amazing - so pretty. I laughed at your deer falling in the Modpodge river over & over - heehee. I smiled immediately before reading the caption of Sadie's dog instead of a deer...no surprise there :) Wow! Memop is the queen of creativity & what a fun day crafting away with her! Love how Frank came in and looked with compliments - yes, what a guy! Made me miss all of you and WISH I could come craft with you. Somehow I don't think that's happening anytime soon ;) THANKS a million for sharing -- loved your post so much!

Oh, that makes me want to still be there at the table! Speaking of the table, there should be one of the table about mid-afternoon--pure havoc!
Boy, that was fun!
