He came to the WRONG house...

That's what Morgan said about the rattlesnake that was lurking by the horse pens a few weeks ago. January rattlesnakes? What is going on here? Anyway, he didn't stop to think that there might be a child with a bow and arrow living at this house. Sorry, snakey.
You will notice that Shane was very consitent with his shooting...he was missing the snake and hitting above it every time. Until it looked like some weird version of Pick Up Sticks. Texas Pick Up Sticks? The winner is the one who gets a stick without getting bit by the rattlesnake? :)
Morgan told him "You better kill it or you will have to get down there and get your arrows back to keep trying! Shane's eyes got real big and he got him the next try. :) He had a very good cheering section.
Confirm the kill, brave Daddy. Or use an arrow and make sure it is really dead. Yes, before I come any closer.
Shane thought this was the best day he has ever had. There was talk of skinning the snake, trying to eat it (But Mama, people DO fry and eat snake!) but in the end they just had to revel in the moment of glory and move on....waiting for more snakes to come along. :) Ivey is practicing and is ready for her turn next. I will post pictures of their practices soon.

COMPLETELY awesome posting! Sure put a smile on our faces here at Ian's house! Already heard back from Frank IV, and he loved it!

What a snake picture with the arrows stuck here and there. I'm surprised Mr. Snake didn't try to take off. Hopefully, you won't have any more to practice on! It is always great to read your updates. :-)

Our little archer wishes he could have a rattlesnake to shoot at. His mother is glad it's your house and not ours!!
