Country Kids go to Town

We took the kids to the Nutcracker ballet last week. They thoroughly enjoyed it and we were thoroughly entertained by listening to them. Take country kids to town and you never know what you will hear. :) Remember these are the kids who, when we eat at a nice restaurant, hand me their second fork and say "Mama, they gave me too many forks". Hmmmm, maybe we should get out a little more often. :)

So you won't be surprised to hear that on the way home from seeing the Nutcracker, the kids were most disturbed about the Arabian dance, where the man didn't have a shirt on. Morgan and I were acting like we weren't listening in the front seat but we were about to die laughing as we heard them conjecturing about WHY he didn't have a shirt on.
Sadie said "He was probably so excited about dancing that he forgot to put his shirt on before he came out."
Ivey said "Probably his clock was wrong and he was late so he didn't have time to put his shirt on".

Shane was a bit disturbed by the men's tights. Especially the white tights. He was sitting by Morgan's mom and she whispered to him that the colored tights were better. He looked at her with a doubtful look and held his thumb and forefinger very close to each other, letting her know they might be better, but only a tiny bit. :) I'll risk sounding like I'm not very cultured and say I had to agree with Shane. :)

They loved the part where the mouse king and the soldiers fight, and they loved the flower dance. It was a very fun afternoon - made even funnier by their observations. :)

Now that little story made me laugh my head off!!! :o)

I just saw a picture of your time together over Christmas. HOW FUN! Wish I could've been there to see you, but I guess that means that I'll just have to come and visit YOU at your home! :)

George and I went to the Nutcracker one time. someone from Union Pacific gave us free tickets as they were a sponser of it in Rawlins....so we were in the front row with other sponsers and the pricey ticket people! It was an experience for both of us. We didn't particularly like "men in tights" either!
