Several have asked how Sadie is doing with the other two gone at school. I took some pictures this morning when we wen to watch the guys work cattle, so you can see she is doing fine. :) She does miss the kids and sometimes says things like "how many more days till summer so Ivey can be home with me?" but mostly I think she loves this one on one time with Mama and Daddy! This morning the other two were crying the blues because Sadie got to go watch Daddy and they had to go to school....so, there are pros and cons to being school age. :)
She really watched as they worked the cattle and asked so many questions that by the time we left she had the weaning process figured out. :)
When I asked her the other day what makes her really excited, she said "Going to get my kids from school!". :) And as for the school kids.....here's what they've been up to...
Homecoming means dressing up and this was on Switch Day. Can you believe it?
They even switched backpacks and lunchboxes for the day! At breakfast I heard Shane ask Ivey if she would help him learn to sit in a skirt so he could still dig at recess without ruining it. Oh brother! :) Next week we'll be back to normal, but this week silliness has ruled the school. :)The kids are learning a lot there. Some academic, some not. Shane announced with an obviously impressed tone of voice that "Some kids at lunch can burp their ABC's" Hmmmm.....brought to mind a few boys I went to school with. I guess some things never change!
Shane's teacher is great about giving them vocabulary words. Shane loves to use them. So, here are a few things we've heard at our house recently....
As I was packing his lunch he said "Actually, I have a small aversion to raisins." When I looked at him funny, he calmly said "Well, I need to be using my vocabulary words!"
Another morning I was putting milk in his hot cereal and he asked me if it was expired because he sure didn't want to drink rancid milk. :)
So...as always, never a dull moment here. But really nothing new either. Just Much Ado About Nothing, I guess. :)
Have a great day!

I love Shane's matter of fact way of looking at things, even wearing a skirt. :-)
Ivy looks cute dressed up like big brother too.
Sadie, you will find that having Mom and Dad to yourself is great. Poor Ivy didn't get to do that as the middle child. Your Grandma Donna always said it wasn't fair that I got Mom and Dad to myself and Linda did, but she didn't. Maybe that is why she decided to stay home longer. :-)
Love ya
What a cute post Michelle. The boys have loved going to watch Daddy ship the yearlings. We heard lots of semis honking, cattle mooing and cowboys hollering. :) Wish we were closer...and I loved the switch day picture. It sure made me laugh. Thanks for the great post.
Now, the "aversion to raisins" thing had ME laughing out loud!!! ha! THANK YOU for this post! :) It was great to see and hear how things are going! I sure think of you guys often (even though I don't let YOU know that!! :). Love ya!
