I don't know why this is underlining my text, but I can't seem to fix it so it will have to be this way. Sorry. :) Last weekend Morgan needed to go around a rocky pasture to find the best way to move cows from it to another pasture. Levi was here and they were going to ride it but Morgan opted for "Daddy of the Year" status by asking if the kids and I wanted to go. He figured we could hike some and drive some to get it done. The kids were ready two hours before it was time to go. :) We drove a long ways, then stopped and had a little picnic.

Then did some walking to the ridge... Ivey was sweet about helping Sadie avoid the catclaw.

When we were back in the truck, Morgan looked at the map and said he thought this would be a shortcut to where we needed to go. It looked pretty steep and rocky....

but our guide assured us it would be fine, after checking it out from a taller point.

When the kids saw Morgan reach for his seatbelt, they didn't have to be told twice to grab theirs! They were a little nervous about the big hill.

We made it with no incident - and then we found these rock formations. Cool, huh?

Of course, the guys had to climb up there. Actually, Levi said something like "Hey!Stop. Let's climb up there and push the top off. I have a thing for pushing big rocks down steep hills". And Morgan couldn't help but follow. After trying their best, they decided there was no moving those rocks!

So they got a little silly - I think Levi was offering to catch Morgan if he jumped over.

Then Ivey had to get up on one...

Just kidding, Memop. Morgan was behind the rock, holding her. He posed this picture just to give you a start. :)
After we were back in the truck, we came upon another "shortcut" according to the map. This one was a bit more risky, evidentally. It required Morgan and Levi to scout it out and talk strategy.

Strategy included pitching a big rock out of the road before we could proceed.

It wasn't really as bad as the kids thought, but they were nervous because the adults were unsure. Shane got nervous because he was by the window. Ivey and Sadie fed off of that. Anyway, they were taking all precautions. We all agreed that Aunt Poppy would not love this road. :)
Sadie was even plugging her nose! ALL precautions taken! :) We made it to the bottom, everyone sighed a sigh of relief, and we found these two old water troughs. I immediately saw they were "treasures" that needed to come home with us. Problem was, they had about 5 inches of cement in the bottoms of them. I could not believe how patient and tolerant the guys were about banging all of it out and loading them. I recently saw some ladies turning junk into cool things and she was giving tips about going shopping for junk. She had a guy with her and said that you must take a "junk hunk" with you to do all the heavy lifting and such.
Meet my TWO "Junk Hunks!" :) This was their reaction when I called them that and told them why.

So, they get some blog exposure for not flat refusing to spend their time and energy on these troughs that they surely thought should have been left in the pasture. I'm thinking cute strawberry planters - painted. We'll see....
