Winter Fun

I was starting supper when Ivey burst in the door and squealed "Mama! Did you see what Daddy is doing? You've got to! Come on!" and rushed back out. Before I could get to the door, I heard screeching, laughing, and the crunch of sleet under sled. I don't know who was having more fun....the kids or Morgan. No wonder they all get excited when they see he is home in the evening. :)

We are pretty deprived of snowdrifts, sledding, ice skating, etc., which is ok with the adults in the house. The kids will take anything "winter" they can get. They have spent hours outside today, running and throwing themselves down on the ground to slide on the ice. It has been pretty entertaining to watch, and to see the red cheeked faces come in to huddle by the fire and wait for hot chocolate reminds me of the magic of being a kid.

I changed the video I had here - in the one I previously posted, Sadie got a bit close to the tree....which explains the first comments in the comment section. This one might be better for viewer enjoyment. :) The other one did show Sadie jumping up and down with excitement when it was over, saying "I stayed on the longest!" which made me smile. Being the youngest, she sure loves it when she can "hang" with the older ones. Even better if she can beat them at something! :)

Reminds me of us when we were little riding behind the CAR on old metal bedsprings! Pa Bill's way of working on the driveway. Only that's a little MORE DANGEROUS, MORGAN.
