March Madness

I was looking through my March pictures today to post a few from this month. Well.... I got a little carried away. So, come see what we've been up to this month. :)
Ivey loves to cook. It might be that she loves having close access to beaters after we've mixed something up! Here she was, supporting herself solely by her little arms as she hung on the counter, getting a lick of cookie batter while the cook had her back turned! :) The cook was Holly, who came out last weekend but prefers not to be photographed and put on the blog. :)

Well, I put the picture up last summer of Ivey with her swimsuit that was way too small, so now it is Sadie's swimsuit blues that are making the blog. She wasn't tall enough to get her swimsuit out of their drawer and was in too much of a hurry to ask for help, so she opted for "trunks" it seems. :) The shorts stayed up until they got a little wet - then down they came!

We've had sure signs of spring around here. My pyracantha bush is putting on new flowers, and some of my other plants are beginning to bloom.

These pictures got jumbled up when I posted them. Here, Shane and Ivey are being quite resourceful. They drug up some plywood scraps and made surfboards, rafts, and boats out of them!

Here was Shane one morning before school - you can see that he isn't really that awake yet, but he wanted to build a little before school.

Sadie and Ivey have been playing house a lot. Sadie will tell me "This is my baby in pretend life".

Ivey hasn't taken these little play high heels off since we got them out of storage the other day. I try to keep their toys split in two groups and rotate them every few months. They always get SO excited about getting their "new" toys out. Ivey and Sadie have been coming to the breakfast table with jammies and heels on. :)

I had to take this one. It shows that we live in the south. Look what Ivey considers a whole meal for her baby... a jalepeno!!

Jessica gave us all of their old rollerskates from when the kids were little. I think this picture show just how much they enjoy trying to use them! When Sadie first put them on, she looked down and said "Mama, they aren't going anywhere!" I guess she didn't think about having to learn how to use them! :)

Last but not least, one of Morgan. I'll have to explain this picture. Since I grew up in the north, we didn't drink cold tea near as much as southern people do. It was an occasional summer treat for us. It is in the same category as beans down here. Essential. So, I just don't think about making tea when I am making a meal. I recently realized how MUCH Morgan enjoys tea. So, one day when he came in for lunch I had a big jar of it for him. Here was his reaction. A bit exaggerated for the sake of the camera, but it really made his day. It wouldn't have mattered if I would have served him a peanut butter sandwich for lunch that day - he would have thought it was the best meal he's had in a long time, because there was tea! It only took me 8 1/2 years to figure this out! I only learned how to make beans a year ago. I guess that's what he gets for marrying a northern girl, huh? :)

I love your pictures! In fact I think I'd like to come have a 2nd childhood at your place, it always looks like so much fun!

Isn't that great about husbands? They just patiently wait until we wives figure these things out!

Tell Morgie I said not to put too much sugar in that southern tea.

Love the new pictures!

Well, my Pennsylvainion would have to agree with Morg. Chuck loves his ice tea and loves it sweet. When we are in PA, we buy southern sweet tea made by one of the local dairies. He was griping the other day that they don't have it around here. Karen found a sweet tea the other day that is made by the Arizona Tea Company. Chuck says it is pretty good. :-)

Loved all the other pictures, especially the one of Ivey getting a taste off the beaters. Shades of her Grandma Donna.
Thanks for sharing.
